Who We Are
Summit Cultures is a small-batch kombucha company based in Silverthorne, Colorado, founded by Nikki and Zach Turner. At 8,791 feet above sea level, our kombucha is born in the mountains and inspired by the rhythm of life outdoors.
The idea for Summit Cultures began during Nikki’s recovery from a traumatic brain injury after a snowboard accident. During the long healing process in a tiny apartment overlooking the Gore Range, alcohol no longer felt like the right fit for social moments. Kombucha became a new ritual — something bright, alive, and restorative that could still be shared with friends after a day outside.
At the same time, Zach brought over a decade of professional fermentation experience to the table. Before Summit Cultures, he spent more than 10 years brewing beer at Colorado breweries including Great Divide, Outer Range, and Angry James. Together, we began experimenting with kombucha that honored the craft of fermentation while creating something lighter, fresher, and easier to drink.
We set out to make kombucha that keeps all the raw benefits of live cultures and probiotics your gut loves — without the harsh bite that can turn people away. Every batch is crafted to be juicy, balanced, and incredibly fresh.
What started in a small apartment kitchen has grown into something bigger than a drink. Summit Cultures is about creating beverages that support your body, bring people together, and reflect the mountain community we call home.
Whether you're coming off the slopes, finishing a long trail run, or cooling down after a day on the river, our kombucha is brewed to be the perfect companion for life at altitude.
